Welcome to my research journal!

My name is David Miranda-Barreiro. I’m originally from A Coruña (Galicia), and I work as a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at Bangor University (Wales). My research interests include national/transnational identities, travel writing/narratives of mobility and comic books, both in the Spanish and Galician contexts.

After coSpanish New York Narratives_covermpleting a monograph on literary representations of New York in early twentieth century Spanish narrative, my new research project revolves around the presence of this city in Galician culture. In this blog, I will publish especially on the development of ‘Galician New York’, by commenting on my readings and findings as well as informing about the research outcomes and activities related to it. Moreover, I will also write about other smaller projects, my views on Spain and Galician cultures and anything that relates to my research interests.

I hope you find it interesting!
